I had a crush on this woman from work but there was just one problem.
"Hello, Loser." she slapped my arm hard enough to jostle the papers I was holding to the ground. She was shorter than me, in a deep red suit, or something similar and frankly bullied me. A straining pain reverberated in my forearm as I picked up the papers. She was looking at me, deep in thought, an unconscious grin slicing her red lips open, her canines in full view. I picked up the papers and very deliberately while looking down at her, made a fearful face and ran away, my heels clicking on marble floor.
Her face fell in fear as well, travelling all the way to her hips. I saw her in the corner of my eye deflate. Good. I wanted to hurt her just as she did. This happened once before. Different situation but similar conclusion. We are not in the 90s anymore, I don't have to tolerate bullying at my age. However, I'm not a snitch either. I have some side people notified if she does anything, and her ass is out of a job.
I sat at my desk and immediately a coworker came in, flustered. They held a piece of paper and they tried to shove it in my face and leave but I held their wrist.
"Hey?"
"I don't want to get in trouble or between whatever you two have. Take it." I plucked it out of their hands and they left in smoke.
I glanced at the paper. In a blue pen, handwriting that I had never seen, littered the paper, huge scratched out spots coloring the white page.
It wrote:
'Hey, I don't know if you realized but I'm heavily flirting with you.
I want to take you out on a date and get to know you better.
I'll pick you up at the end of your shift.
Oh and I never introduced myself did I?
I am Victoria.'
Flirting... with me? What? Same? I mean what.
I half focused on work and got it done. When I finished I got up and turned to directly bump with her. Victoria. She guffed and a beautiful smile full of teeth shined as our eyes met.
"Ready?"
Fuck it.
"Yes."
We had so much fun. We talked for hours about everything. We both had so many opinions and stimulating ones too. I've never seen Victoria that happy. At work she's the bitchiest, but with me there in the family restaurant she's so cheerful and optimistic. She pulled me to a cab, we went to her house and fucked for half the night.
As we were falling asleep, I murmured to her as if now realizing it.
"I love you."
"I love you too, Loser."
